The orientation program appears to be an opportunity for any student to learn, how to navigate this campus and get introduced to culture of SVKM’s NMIMS, School of Pharmacy & Technology management (SPTM) and Mukesh Patel Technology Park (MPTP). Orientation can be used to build a network of resources that will help students and their parents to start their SPTM journey in better manner on the right path.
This is a formal welcome to the students to SVKM’s NMIMS family and introduce to them with culture of the School, campus and University. The program consists of a brief introduction of the SVKM, the University, NMIMS and Mukesh Patel Technology Park (MPTP). It also includes the information about Infrastructure of School of Pharmacy & Technology Management; Examination rules & Regulations; Housing and Meal plans; Library & Books; Teaching & Tutoring; Sports & Culture events and many other campus resources!
This academic year, the orientation program was organized for B. Pharm + MBA (Pharma Tech) students on Monday, July 02, 2018.
Dr. R. S. Gaud, Director Mukesh Patel Technology Park, Dr. Nikhalesh Mishra, Director Engineering Management, Shirpur, Mr. Rahul Dande, Chief accountant and Administrator, MPTP, Shirpur, Mr. Rajeev Dalal, Deputy Registrar, NMIMS, faculty and staff were present for the program.
Dr. R. S. Gaud, Director of MPTP, Shirpur campus welcomed students and their parents and congratulated them for their acceptance to the School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, SVKM’s NMIMS. He introduced them with Shri Vile Parle Kelvani Mandal (SVKM) and the achievements and mile stones, the Mandal has achieved with constant pursuance of excellence. He further explained the development of NMIMS, under the umbrella of SVKM and its progress. In his speech he also threw a light on accomplishments the university has achieved. He informed the gathering that due to pursuance of excellence, NMIMS is now declared as the autonomous University and it is one of the very few Universities in the country to achieve this in such short period of time.
Dr. Ashwini Deshpande, the Associate Dean of the School introduced students with the School of Pharmacy and Technology Management, Shirpur. She explained different achievements of the school, and activities conducted in the school so as to make a student – a responsible citizen. She also gave students a brief introduction about discipline guidelines and information about departments and faculties.
After the tea break, library guidelines were discussed by Mr. Ravindra Mendhe, Dy. Librarian of the Mukesh Patel Central library. He briefed about the services and facilities available with MPTP central library, including total books, volumes and regulations of Library access.
As it is a residential campus, the hostel rules and security of students plays a major role in academic performance of students, which was well elaborated and explained Mr. Sanjay Jha, Rector, Boys’ hostel. He also thrown a light on disciplinary guidelines, rules and regulations of hostel and campus with special reference to mandate issued by Govt India regarding Ragging.

After the formal part of the program, students were sent to their mentors. The first session of mentor-mentee interaction was held in presence of parents, where parents were assured about students stay at the campus. Mentors and Parents exchanged mutual contact details for further communication.
