Name of the alumni Meet: Milaap

Venue: Mukesh Patel hall, SVKM’s NMIMS, Mumbai
Objective:
The alumni meet aimed to reconnect former students of School of Pharmacy & Technology management and facilitate networking, sharing of experiences, and fostering a sense of community among alumni.
Attendance:
The event witnessed a significant turnout with alumni spanning various graduating years from 2009 to 2023. Approximately 200 alumni attended the meet.
Pre Event activities:
The alumni in-charge Dr Payal Dande and Dr. Shashikant Bagade participated in the preparation of alumni meet activities along with faculty in charge and student committee of Mumbai campus. The students and teachers prepared creative reels to motivate the alumni for registration and participation in the alumni meet. Faculty in charge members personally called the alumni students and asked them to participate in huge numbers. A google form was created to collect the details and current updates of the alumnus. Dr Payal Dande created an alumni group that got huge response with 300 students joining the group to participate in the future activities.
Event Activities:
Keynote Address: Dr Jayant Gandhi (Hon. Secretary, SVKM’s NMIMS and Mentor, SPTM) delivered the keynote address and explained the importance of alumni connect to the event. The speech focused on the significance of alumni engagement, the role of alumni in contributing to the institution’s growth, and shared personal anecdotes. Dr Meena Chintamaneni, Pro Vice chancellor delivered the welcome address and emphasized on the legacy of Pharmacy school at NMIMS.
Industry Connect: A special event "Pharmainnovent” was conducted offline and aired live on youtube where the industry Experts were invited from different sectors of Pharma industry to explain the role of AI and digital technology in their respective fields of Pharmaceutical industry.
Panel Discussions: A panel discussion named "Nexus- Connections and Conversations” organized with alumnus as speakers lead to discussion and expert views on the topics such as on organization culture, career advancement, industry trends, entrepreneurship and the impact of AI technology on various parts. Panels comprised accomplished alumni experts from industry, providing valuable insights and perspectives.
Networking Lunch: The event commenced with a networking lunch where alumni had the opportunity to mingle and reconnect with old friends and acquaintances. This session facilitated informal interactions and exchange of contact details.
Cultural Program: To add a touch of nostalgia and entertainment, a cultural program featuring performances by alumni and current students was organized. This segment displayed talents across music, dance, and drama, fostering a sense of camaraderie and pride among attendees.
School Presentation: Dean Dr. Jagannath Sahoo exhibited the current on goings, research and teaching activities, various achievements and augmented facilities in the form of a school presentation.
Mentorship Program: Dean Dr. Jagannath Sahoo announced the innovative mentorship program named "Margdarshak” to build the coordination amongst the students and mentors to understand the industry need, know-how and for guiding the young students
Distinguished Alumnus Award: The School bestowed distinguished alumni award in three categories, first one to Dr. Pramod Kashid (in Pharmaceutical Science), Mr. Pratik Kamani (Corporate) and Mr. Anurag Borad (Entrepreneurship) category for their exemplary work in their respective categories. A selection committee formed to select the distinguished alumnus based on the experience, achievements and contribution made by the alumni’s to the workplace, industry and society.
Feedback:
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with alumni expressing appreciation for the opportunity to reconnect, network, and gain valuable insights. Many alumni conveyed their interest in future events and initiatives aimed at fostering alumni engagement.
Conclusion:
The alumni meet served as a platform for alumni to reminisce, network, and celebrate their shared experiences. It reaffirmed the strong bond between alumni and their alma mater, laying the groundwork for continued engagement and collaboration in the future.
Post Event activities:
Follow-up Communication: A follow-up communication was made with attendees, thanking them for their participation and soliciting feedback for future events. The alumni showed keen interest in attending the similar alumni event at Shirpur Campus in June 2024.
Alumni Database Update: The alumni database with new contacts and information was gathered using google form and creating WhatsApp group.
Plan Future Events: Based on feedback and suggestions, the Associate Dean has asked the Alumni in- charge faculty members to prepare the plan campus alumni events and include the initiatives to maintain momentum and strengthen alumni relations.
Overall, the alumni meet was a resounding success, fostering a sense of belonging and pride among alumni while paving the way for continued collaboration and engagement.
