FAST LEARNER MEET 2016 - 17

Report on Fast Learner’s meet Oct 8, 2016.

A fast learner’s meet of students of SPTM and SPPSPTM was organized at Mukesh Patel Technology Park, Shirpur on October 08, 2016.

The event was started at 9.30 am, with the motivational speech by Dr. R.S. Gaud, Director, Shirpur campus. He inspired all the students to actively participate in the discussions and to come up with constructive conclusions.

The class wise discussions were held in the library from 10.00 to 12.00 pm and 3.00 to 4.45 pm. Where in fast learning students of Mumbai and Shirpur campuses interacted regarding syllabus, and other academic discussions.

Student representatives from II year MBA Pharm Tech, Shirpur campus were, Mr. Manu Verma, Ms. Ruchira Mohite, Ms. Sayali Nerkar and from Mumbai campus student representative was Ms. Shruti Sampath. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Amit Page. Students discussed in detail about every subject and suggested for the revision of syllabus of few subjects. There was no general suggestion from the student participants.

From II year B.Pharm, Shirpur campus, Ms. Lakshmi Nair, Manish Sisodiya and Kinjal Patel were the student representatives and Ms. Janvhi Machhar was from Mumbai campus. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Shashikant Bagade.

Similarly, From Shirpur Campus III year MBA Pharm Tech, student representatives were, Mr. Arun Lal, Ms. Shambhavi Shahi, Mr. Amarsingh Rathode and student representatives from Mumbai campus were Ms. Mitalie Mhatre and Rituparna Acharjee. From III year B.Pharm, Mr. Soham Kamat was the student representative from Shirpur campus. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Sateesh B. Where he observed and reported that students are happy about the syllabus framed for each subject. The reference books and study material used for each subjects were discussed. The Hospital Pharmacy subject may be made/tuned to more relevant to Indian scenario. The Herbal Drug Technology subject may be simplified to some extent by adopting the more relevant herbs. In case of Unit Operations II & Pharmaceutical Technology I, the practical components to be in tune with the theory syllabus.

Students continued the interaction and did a brainstorming on the management subjects taught to them, particularly in the first semester of all the three years of MBA (Pharm Tech) program. Subjects such as, Marketing Management, Project Management, Organizational Behaviour, Cost & Management Accounting were part of the discussion. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Ashok Panigrahi. Where he suggested that this kind of interaction should take place at faculty level so that more output can be generated.

Expert talk was delivered by Mr Sandeep Atre at 1.00 to 3.00 pm.

All participants appreciated this effort of involving students in the process of academic development. Students were happy about the meet & expressed their willingness to attend the same in future also. The Fast Learner’s meet was ended with a thanks to the convener and all the stake holders of NMIMS.
