The Skill Development Workshop on "Microemulsion-Based Drug Delivery Strategies for Treating Behavioral Disorders," held at SVKM's NMIMS School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, Shirpur, in association with B. V. Patel Education Trust, Ahmedabad, took place on April 26th and 27th, 2024. The workshop aimed to enhance participants' skills in advanced drug delivery systems, making them industry employment-ready.
Dr. Dipankar Bhadra, an eminent pharmaceutical scientist, delivered the keynote address. Various sessions covered topics such as formulation development, regulatory considerations, and animal experimentation. Twenty-five selected participants from different pharmacy colleges across India, including Shirpur, Indore, Palghar, Amravati, Chopda, and Latur, attended the event.
During the workshop, participants learned techniques for formulating and evaluating microemulsion formulations. They gained hands-on experience with sophisticated analytical instruments such as the High-Speed Homogenizer, Brookfield Viscometer, Imaging Motic Microscope, UV-Visible Spectrometer, IR Spectrometer, and HPLC. Additionally, they were exposed to animal experiments for behavioral studies using instruments like the Actophotometer and Rota-rod.
This practical exposure equipped the participants with valuable skills and insights essential for their future endeavours in the pharmaceutical industry.
