On behalf of the birthday of Chancellor Shri. Amrishbhai Patel, a blood donation camp was arranged on 14th September, 2014. With due permission & cooperation of SVKM’s NMIMS Management authorities and the joint efforts made by Student Activity Committee-SAC, ENACTUS, SAVE and Pragati social group.
The camp started at 9.00 am in the morning with a small inauguration by the dignitaries (Dr. M.V. Deshpande, Dr.S.S. Deshpande, Mr. Rahul Dande and Col. Sehrawat).
On around 350 people passed the donation criteria. The camp witnessed active participation from all including the students, teachers, non-teaching staff and the local public from Shirpur, Dhule and other nearby villages.
The donors were first evaluated in terms of their weight, blood group, blood haemoglobin and other related factors. Viable donors were then taken for the donation and refreshments were provided to the students who were the part of the camp. Dhrumil Patel, the first donor was appreciated for his willingness to donate the blood.
The camp was set-up in boy's hostel. Two blood banks: Mukesh Patel blood bank, Shirpur and Jeevan Jyoti blood bank, Dhule were invited to set up their stations in different rooms. Hundreds of donors volunteered to donate blood.
The donors were provided with the certificates of appreciation and an attractive gel pen. The event successfully came to an end at 7 pm in the evening. It was indeed a successful event as students from every discipline came together to be a part of this camp.
