SPTM conducted the Pharma Tech Fest, VISTAAR 2024 during March 22-23, 2024. VISTAAR, an acronym for Vision, Innovation, Startup, Technology, Ambition, Aspiration and Research, is a student-run flagship event designed to bridge the gap between industry and academia. This dynamic event serves as a platform for students to not only share knowledge but also connect with professionals, develop practical skills, and unleash their full potential.
Inaugural Addresses at VISTAAR’ 24
VISTAAR’ 24 saw visit by dignitaries from NMIMS SoBUS Centre of Excellence, led by Ms. Resha Patel (Board Member & Director - Operations, Sobus Insight Forum), Mr. Prashant Kulkarni (Innovator, Speaker, Entreprenuer, Ideator), Mr. Himanshu Goyal (Founder, Gymsquad), Ms. Gehlot (Founder, Asmakam Life University), Ms. Ayushi Agrawal, & Mr. Peace Ankit. In the inaugural session, Dr. ShyamSunder Pancholi welcomed the guests and delivered the welcome address. Mr. Prashant Kulkarni motivated the participants with his inspirational words. This was followed by Mr. Anubhab Bhattacharya (Student Incharge, VISTAAR’ 24) giving an overview on VISTAAR’ 24 and its events. SoBUS Innovent team gave a generous and wholehearted support to this event.
Day 1 of VISTAAR' 24
Day one featured a captivating series of events meticulously crafted to hone and showcase the scientific and technological prowess of the student body. In all 78 students registered for various events. Participation across all categories was robust, with Pitch Perfect attracting 17 teams, Commercial Clash with 19 teams, Pharmatech Lens had entries for 16 teams, Legal Arena saw 16 teams participating, and Kwiz Wisely recorded highest entries with 36 teams.
Day 1 of VISTAAR' 24
On Day 1 four events - Kwiz Wisely, Pharmatech Lens, Pitch Perfect & Genius Gizmo were conducted. Eliminations for Legal Arena were conducted on Day 1 by shortlisting 6 teams for final round.
Kwiz Wisely, one of the captivating events at VISTAAR, attracted a total of 36 teams eager to showcase their scientific and technological knowledge. The competition was designed to challenge the participants and identify the most well-rounded team progressively. Round 1, A pen and paper challenge whittled it down to 10 teams, followed by an image-based Round 2 selecting the top 4 teams. In the final showdown Round 3, 2 teams from MPharm, a team from 3rd-year, and a 1st-year team battled it out through judge-led questioning. A well-deserved winner emerged, demonstrating scientific and technological prowess. The Judges for this event were Dr. S. Bagade, Dr. Dhrubojyoti Mukherjee, Dr. Sankha Bhattacharya, Ms. Prajakta Patil.

KUIZ WISELY & PHARMATECH LENS
Pharmatech Lens attracted a focused group of 5 teams, comprising 3 teams from the MPharm program and 1 team from the 3rd year. The teams presented their innovative ideas to a panel of judges, presumably outlining their approaches to challenges within the pharmaceutical technology sector. The judges evaluated the presentations based on a predetermined set of criteria, ultimately selecting the most compelling and well-developed concept. Commercial Clash brought together 10 teams eager to showcase their marketing and advertising prowess. The competition format likely involved a presentation or campaign demonstration, allowing the teams to unveil their creative strategies and persuasive approaches. Based on a set of predetermined criteria, the judges evaluated each team's performance, ultimately selecting the team that displayed the most effective use of marketing and advertising principles. COMMERCIAL CLASH & PITCH PERFECT / GENIUS GIZMO
Pitch Perfect & Genius gizmo, a highlight of VISTAAR, witnessed innovative ideas as 12 teams, representing all the academic years, took centre stage. Each team had the opportunity to pitch a unique product or concept to a panel of judges. The selection process involved a rigorous evaluation based on predetermined criteria, ensuring only the most promising and well-developed ideas advanced. Overall, the event provided a platform for students from all years to pitch unique ideas to a judging panel. The events highlighted the scientific, technological, and commercial talents of the student body and witnessed the participation of 17 teams. Dr. Payal Dande, Dr. Mahendra Prajapati, Dr. Hemant T. evaluated the teams.

Day 2 of VISTAAR' 24
Day 2 of VISTAAR' 24 kicked off with a stimulating event: Final round of Legal Arena. This event pitted six teams against each other in a captivating mock trial. The case study centred on a recent Delhi High Court decision upholding a single judge's ruling that restricted Cipla from marketing a generic version of Novartis' patented respiratory drug containing Indacaterol (marketed under the brand name Onbrez). Teams were randomly assigned to argue for or against the legal position with each team presenting a comprehensive analysis of the case study, including factual details, figures, and legal arguments. This event aimed to explore a timely and relevant issue in intellectual property arena while also fostering a dynamic environment for learning and debate within the legal parlance. Overall, Legal Arena was a resounding success, demonstrating the depth of legal talent among VISTAAR'24 participants. The Judges for this event were Mr. Milind Sonawane and Dr. Preeti Sangave.

Valedictory Addresses at VISTAAR’ 24
Mr. Milind Sonawane, Associate Director External Quality, MSD Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai, agreed to be the chief guest who delivered the keynote address. The session highlighted the importance of regulations, new technologies, and employee satisfaction. Key topics included the rise of biopharmaceuticals and personalized medicine, the integration of digital tools in healthcare, and the critical role of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in ensuring product safety. The session was a roadmap to success in the ever-changing world of pharmaceuticals. By focusing on future trends, strict regulations, and employee happiness, the session showcased the industry's dedication to best practices. He also gave some take-home messages on how to face an interview as a fresher. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A session.
Student Core Team and Organizing Members:
Dr. Preeti Sangave, Faculty Coordinator of VISTAAR'24, delivered a report summarizing the key takeaways and highlights of VISTAAR’ 24. A prize distribution ceremony acknowledged the event's winning Teams. Mr. Saurabh Maru, faculty co-coordinator delivered a formal vote of thanks.
