The Five Days Winter School Workshop on “Chromatographic Techniques: HPLC, GC & HPTLC In-Focus”, conducted from 27th to 31st January 2026, was designed to strengthen theoretical understanding and practical proficiency in advanced chromatographic techniques while bridging academia and industry. The workshop commenced with a formal inauguration, including welcome and presidential addresses that emphasized experiential learning and research orientation. Day 1 focused on foundational concepts of chromatography and industrial relevance. Expert speakers elaborated on chromatographic principles, classification, instrumentation, and applications, alongside systematic HPLC method development, optimization strategies, retention mechanisms, troubleshooting, and regulatory considerations. Day 2 introduced modern analytical philosophies, including Quality by Design (QbD), Green and White Analytical Chemistry, and challenges in nutraceutical analysis. Participants were trained on Analytical Target Profile (ATP), Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs), risk assessment tools, and sustainability metrics. The afternoon session provided intensive hands-on training in Gas Chromatography (GC), covering sample preparation, injection techniques, method programming, chromatogram interpretation, and troubleshooting. Days 3 and 4 were fully dedicated to practical training on HPTLC and HPLC. Participants received structured, batch-wise exposure to instrument operation, system suitability testing, mobile phase optimization, derivatization techniques, data processing, and analytical problem-solving. Emphasis was placed on regulatory compliance, reproducibility, and good laboratory practices, enhancing operational confidence and analytical reasoning. Day 5 featured advanced applications and industrial perspectives, including HPLC-PDA-HRMS/MS analysis of natural products, peptide characterization using RP-HPLC and MS/MS, and chromatographic applications in herbal, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and nutraceutical industries. The valedictory function reflected on the academic achievements of the program, included participant feedback, a keynote address, felicitation of guests, and certificate distribution. Overall, the workshop successfully integrated theoretical foundations, sustainability concepts, regulatory perspectives, and extensive hands-on training, significantly enhancing participants’ analytical competence and industry readiness.
