SVKM’s NMIMS Shirpur Campus successfully hosted the two-day National Conference, AYUCON-2026, on February 27-28, 2026. Sponsored by DST-ANRF, the event focused on “Ayurveda & Tribal Healing for Respiratory Health,” creating a vital dialogue between traditional knowledge and modern medical science.

Event Highlights and Inauguration

Organized by the School of Pharmacy & Technology Management (SPTM) in collaboration with the SVKM Multidisciplinary Ayurveda Hospital, the conference was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Sanjeev Rastogi (Director, Integrative Medicine, Lucknow). Convenor Dr. S. S. Pancholi highlighted Ayurveda’s global resurgence, while patrons Shri Amrishbhai R. Patel and Shri Bhupeshbhai R. Patel provided their visionary support.

The conference featured keynote sessions from industry experts covering:

  • Integrative Care: Tribal-classical Ayurveda integration and herb-drug interactions.
  • Validation: Preclinical validation of “Rasa Panchaka” and molecular network pharmacology.
  • Innovation: Herbal solutions for tobacco dependence and substitutes for endangered medicinal plants.

With over 100 participants and 30+ presentations, awards were presented for breakthrough research. Dr. Saurabh Maru secured first place in Tribal Healing for work on cervical cancer remedies, while Snehal K. Bhavsar topped the Phytopharmaceuticals category.

By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, AYUCON-2026 has set a new benchmark for sustainable healthcare research, proving that the future of medicine lies in the synergy of ancient roots and modern technology.
