SVKM’s NMIMS Shirpur Campus hosted the two-day National Conference “Ayurveda & Tribal Healing for Respiratory Health: Bridging Ancient Wisdom with Modern Science” (AYUCON-2026), organized by the School of Pharmacy & Technology Management (SPTM) in collaboration with its multidisciplinary Ayurveda Hospital and the Innovation Council of the Ministry of Education, with support from DST-ANRF.
The inaugural ceremony on February 27 commenced with traditional lamp lighting and the release of the conference souvenir. Chief Guest Dr. Sanjeev Rastogi highlighted the growing importance of integrative medicine. Opening remarks were delivered by Dr. S. S. Pancholi, along with co-convenors Dr. Shashikant Bagade, Dr. Saurabh Maru, and Dr. Vishal Beldar, emphasizing Ayurveda’s global relevance. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Ajay T. Salunke.
The conference featured insightful keynote sessions across two days, covering themes such as integrative approaches in disease management, validation of Ayurvedic principles through modern science, herb-drug interactions, and innovations in phytopharmaceuticals. Speakers from reputed institutions shared perspectives on respiratory healthcare, COVID-19 recovery, and sustainable alternatives in medicinal plants.
With over 100 registrations and 30+ research presentations, the event encouraged active academic participation. Competitive sessions recognized outstanding contributions in Tribal Healing and Phytopharmaceuticals, appreciating innovative research by students and scholars from various institutions.
The conference concluded on a high note, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration. A special note of gratitude was extended to Dr. Sunita R. Patil, Director, MPTP Shirpur Campus, for her constant support and guidance. The event successfully provided a platform for bridging traditional Ayurvedic wisdom with modern scientific advancements, inspiring students and researchers toward holistic and sustainable healthcare solutions.
